Adam started Mowery Environmental, LLC in January 2015 out of a recognition that agricultural operations, specifically mushroom farms, could use assistance in maintaining compliance with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection's (PA DEP) regulations. Previously, Adam was employed by the Chester County Conservation District for over 7 years. During his time at the Conservation District, Adam worked with numerous mushroom farmers in designing and implementing Best Management Practices (BMPs) to collect, store, and treat wastewater runoff from their operations. He also wrote and reviewed Environmental Management Plans and managed various grant programs. Adam received his Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Studies from Bucknell University and his Master's Degree in Environmental Studies with a Concentration in Resource Management from the University of Pennsylvania.
